Annual Appeal 2021
Dear Friends of St. Ignatius Nursing & Rehab Center,
Each year at this time we reach out to you, our loyal donor, to ask for your help for various projects on which we are working to continue our mission of compassionate care for our dear infirmed and elderly Residents. However, this year has been unprecedented. As you are aware, nursing homes are on the frontline of this pandemic crisis. Despite early interventions to prevent the disease from affecting our Home and Residents,
St. Ignatius Nursing & Rehab Center suffered with the virus, causing heartache and sadness for our Residents, their families and our heroic essential employees. Nursing homes are like families; our staff knows the resident, their friends, their children and grandchildren, sometimes for years, so the illness or loss of a resident from Covid19 is a devastating emotional blow.
As we move forward, we are on the cusp of a vaccine and hope for a better year ahead. We must now rebuild, not just in a physical way but also spiritually and mentally. We want to rework Residents’ personal space so it is less conducive to infection spread and also create more home like communal areas when Residents are forced to quarantine. There will be new state regulations that we will need to implement. And through all this, we must be prepared and vigilant. We need to stock up on Personal Protective Equipment, educate our staff to the latest information and directives, and equip our facility with supplies and services that will insure the safety of all.
You have helped us in the past and so we ask you to help us again to prepare for the future. It is our belief that with your donation, we will be able to continue the mission of our Felician Franciscan Sisters, of Blessed Mary Angela, Foundress of the Felician Sisters, and of Father John Mitchell, who saw a need in West Philadelphia and created this nursing home, that this place of love and care will continue and thrive.
We understand that this pandemic has left no one untouched, which is why we appreciate your support and friendship now more than ever. Please know that we will continue to pray for your safety and wellbeing.
Thank you and God Bless.

Room Renovations
For the last few years, STINRC has had an on-going project to renovate Resident rooms. This includes painting, new window treatments, replacing beds, curtains, dressers, chairs and updating the bathrooms. We cannot complete the renovations without the help of grants and donations as over 90% of our Residents are on Medicaid which causes deficits in the daily cost of Resident care. In order to keep up our facility, we must fundraise to make up the difference and to continue to improve the quality of life for the Residents. Below is the Room Renovations Budget and opportunities for our Donors to help us with this Project. We thank you for your consideration and any help you can give us to for this very worthwhile project. Additional funding sources information and details are available by calling the Development Office: 215-349-8800 Ext 250.
