Our COVID Journey
In 2020 and 2021, the nursing home industry and St. Ignatius Nursing & Rehab Center endured the consequences of COVID in a profound and tragic manner. Realizing the impact the COVID crisis had on our industry, staff, and most importantly our Residents and their families, our Board asked us to document our journey through video for its historical significance. We commissioned Riseart’s Ryan MacDonald, a local film maker to interview our staff, Residents and others impacted by COVID. This documentary was shown to our staff and Board at a recent premiere and was featured in an article in the February issue of Catholic Health World. This moving journey was powerfully captured and shows the devastating impact of the COVID crisis on our small urban nursing home but also the highlights the heroic efforts of the community and our own staff to care for our Residents during some of the most difficult years in our history.
